Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 July 2026
The short version
Everything you make with StudioPilot is yours. We claim no rights over your music, ever. The Setup Kit is a one-time purchase. The app is a monthly subscription you can cancel any time. Be fair with your licence and we will look after you.
The two products
The Setup Kitis a one-time purchase. It connects your own AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT's Codex) to Ableton Live. You need your own paid AI plan to use it, and that cost is separate from us and outside our control.
The StudioPilot app is a monthly subscription with the AI built in, so no separate AI plan is needed. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of credits, which are used as the AI carries out work in your session.
Your music
Anything you create using StudioPilot belongs entirely to you. We claim no ownership, no royalties and no rights over your music. You are free to release it commercially.
One honest caveat: if you work from someone else's track, for example splitting it into stems or sampling it in your session, the rights in that original track still belong to whoever owns it. Releasing music that uses it may need their permission, and that part is your responsibility, exactly as it would be with any sampler.
Your licence
Your purchase gives you a personal licence to use StudioPilot. You may not resell it, share it publicly, or redistribute the files. Free packs included with your purchase (presets, MIDI and samples) are royalty free for use in your own music.
Subscriptions, credits and cancelling
- Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel, and prices are shown at checkout in your local currency.
- Credits reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over.
- You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from your members area or inside the app. Changes to your plan are pro-rated automatically.
- If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Refunds
Because both products give you immediate access to digital files and software, we are not able to offer refunds as standard.
That said, we are reasonable people. If something genuinely does not work for you, or you have been charged in error, email us and we will look at it properly and sort you out. We would always rather fix the problem or make it right than leave you unhappy.
What we ask of you
- Use StudioPilot lawfully and for your own music.
- Make sure you have the rights to any material you process. Working from someone else's track may need the owner's permission.
- Do not attempt to break, abuse or resell access to the service.
- Keep your own work backed up. StudioPilot makes changes inside your session, so save regularly, exactly as you would when working with any production tool.
Availability and support
StudioPilot is actively developed and improved, and features are added and refined regularly. We work hard to keep everything running, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and third-party tools such as Ableton Live and outside AI providers are beyond our control.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms as StudioPilot develops. The latest version will always be on this page with the date at the top.
